Introduction

The following is a collection of artefacts that relate to some of my experiences as a teacher candidate. In general, these artefacts relate to my ongoing education as a mathematics teacher at the elementary grade level. The purpose of this collection is to help demonstrate both my knowledge of mathematics and, significantly, my capacity to teach mathematics. To achieve this latter goal I have gathered a collection of artefacts that I believe demonstrates my ability to educate. Furthermore, this portfolio will help to identify what I view to be some of the more influential techniques and strategies that are compatible with my pedagogical aspirations. To organize this project I have divided my discussion into three separate categories. These are: Instructional Experiences, Pedagogy, and Differentiated Instruction. In all three of these topics I will identify a series of artefacts that relate to my experiences as an aspiring teacher of mathematics. I will further explain the importance of these artefacts and reflect on their influence on my teaching progression. The goal of this portfolio is to establish what I have learned and discovered, while also providing the direction for where I am heading. I hope its contents are clear and informative. Enjoy!
